Therapeutic Parenting Support Groups
Parenting adopted children can bring its own challenges and rewards. Our monthly support groups have been developed, acknowledging key themes highlighted by our adoptive parents that they and/or their children face. Each month we will explore a different theme, with an aim of talking through the challenges associated with these.
The support groups are an excellent opportunity to meet with other adopters in a safe, non-judgemental environment, share lived experiences, advice, strategies and offer something new to your parenting that someone else brings.
The groups are currently run by two therapeutically trained social workers who will aim to encourage open discussions, whilst providing support, guidance and resources, however, our wider aim is to provide an adopter’s support group led by adopters, for adopters with support from our social workers. If you like to attend one our support groups or are interested in leading, visit the Events Calendar.
